Wellington Silva misses out for Bolton as they host Leeds

Bolton will be without winger Wellington Silva for the visit of Leeds to the Macron Stadium.

The Arsenal loanee picked up a hamstring problem in Tuesday's defeat to Birmingham when he was booked for simulation attempting to win a penalty and he could miss up to 10 weeks with the injury.

Midfielder Jay Spearing avoided a broken leg at Burnley last weekend but missed out in midweek and is doubtful to return just yet, while forward Zach Clough (shoulder) is a long-term injury absentee.

Emile Heskey and Gary Madine were paired together in attack for the first time, yet manager Neil Lennon may consider returning to just deploying one striker after an ineffectual showing.

Leeds head coach Steve Evans will monitor striker Chris Wood, who was forced out of Wednesday night's draw at Fulham following a heavy second-half challenge.

Evans has no other major new injury concerns for his second game in charge in the space of four days, but could be tempted to make changes given the quick turnaround.

The likes of Will Buckley and Jordan Botaka are pushing for recalls, while defender Liam Cooper shook off a knee injury much quicker than expected to play the full 90 minutes in midweek.

Defender Sam Byram returned to the starting line-up for the first time since mid-September at Fulham and looks set to continue under Evans, who will likely retain his favoured 4-4-2 formation.
