Bolton v Fulham Live!

14 March 2009 14:09
77 Simon Davies smashes Taylor's throw away, but it goes straight back to Bolton. Cahill fires a long ball in but Fulham win a goal-kick.[LNB]76 Murphy makes a rare error and gives Bolton the ball, the Trotters work it down the left to RIga, and then earn a throw-in deep in Fulham territiory.[LNB]75 Bolton win a free-kick out on the left...McCann chips it in, but Fulham have it away. Bolton get it back and pump another ball into the box and surprise, surprise Hangeland gets it away! He has been awesome at the back today.[LNB]74 Hangeland wins another aerial battle, he has been one of Fulham's star players today along with Murphy[LNB]73 Bolton sub: Samuel is withdrawn for Riga as Gary Megson tries to make things happen for Bolton.[LNB]72 Pantsil works well with Simon Davies, who sends the ball into the box to Zamora, who lays it off to Etuhu, but he can't keep his volley down.[LNB]71 Johnson is caught by Samuel, Murphy gets onto the ball and forces a Fulham throw-in.[LNB]70 Bolton have a corner, which is put into the mixer, but Schwarzer gets a stong punch to the ball and Fulham try to catch Bolton on the counter.[LNB]69 Bolton aren't giving up by any stretch of the imagination as they win a corner following an handball appeal.[LNB]68 Zamora works some space, but he's the latest player to be guilty of a poor ball into the box.[LNB]68 Sub: Mark Davies comes off to make my commentary a bit easier to write for Muamba.[LNB]67 Kevin Davies wins a corner, and Bolton go close thtough a header.[LNB]66 The delay hasn't hindered Fulham - Johnson works well down the right, he tries to find Zamora in the box, but he overhits the cross.[LNB]Mark Davies has been down with what looks like suspected ligament damage, but after lengthy treatment he comes back on.[LNB]61 Murphy is looking supreme as he starts another Fulham move, he moves it down the right to Simon Davies who pings one into the six yard box...the ball is blocked, and the second-ball is blasted away by Bolton.[LNB]60 Mark Davies wants to join his namesakes on the score-sheet as he drives into the box, he loses it initially, wins it back and lays it off to Steinsson who hits it well over. Poor finish from an otherwise exciting move.[LNB]58 Bolton come again at Fulham, but the away side get it back and earn a free-kick in a dangerous position on the right.[LNB]56 Johnson gets into the box, takes a tumble, gets back up and finds Murphy who hits one and it cannons off the crossbar! The ball breaks to Simon Davies and he hits a low volley and it's in!!! Fulham's first attack of the second half.[LNB]54 Mark Davies wins a free-kick after Simon Davies (too many Davies' playing today) brings him down...the ball is played in but Fulham break through Johnson...[LNB]53 Bolton are looking much more of a threat now, and they have a throw-in on the half-way line.[LNB]51 Bolton are looking better as Taylor finds Elmander with a dink over Hughes and Elmander strikes it on the volley, but Schwarzer gets enough of a touch on the ball as it trickles past the post and Fulham get it away.[LNB]49 Fulham continue their potent attacking, with Zamora working well down the right. He gets into the box and Johnson is screaming for the ball, but his strikepartner's pass is too short for the former England International and Bolton get it away.[LNB]48 Bolton get the ball in Fulham's half, and Kevin Davies holds it up well, before trying to find Taylor, but Fulham win a free-kick.[LNB]47 Fulham are looking attack-minded again in a stop-start beginning to the second half.[LNB]Richard is following Fulham via our commentary from the French Alps and he hopes the Cottagers can rekindle their Euro hopes with a win today.[LNB]45 Bolton get the second half under way, with Kevin Davies conceding a foul on Hangeland.[LNB] So it's level here at the Reebok, but Gary Megson will definitely be giving his side some harsh words in the dressing room after they Fulham dominate proceedings. Fulham were allowed all the possession, and should maybe have another goal or two on the score-sheet. Bolton had chances themselves, notably Elmander's free-kick which led to a goal-line scramble, but Bolton need to play better if they hope to stop Fulham from getting a rare away win. Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson will be happy with his charge and will probably ask for more of the same.[LNB]46 Literally seconds after the Davies' goal, ref Foy blows up for half-time. It's all square at the Reebok, but I have to say Fulham deserve to be in the lead. I will be posting you're views on the game so far very shortly...[LNB]45 Bolton equalise! Kevin Davies smashes home an unlikely leveller from his namesake Mark Davies' pass. Good move, and good finish.[LNB]44 Fulham are still looking threatening here, but Bolton get back onto the ball.[LNB]42 Johson scores his first away goal for Fulham after a terrible bit of defending by O'Brien following Simon Davies' through-ball. Fulham get the goal they deserve.[LNB]39 Fulham's fourth corner is hit deep, Dempsey picks it up and crosses to Hughes and Johnson fails to get his shot on target.[LNB]38 Fulham win their third corner, which falls to Johnson but the ball doesn't come down quick enough and his half-volley is tame. But Fulham get another corner.[LNB]37 Great save by Jaaskelianen! Zamora hits a left-footed blast from close-range after Konchesky's cross.[LNB]35 Bolton give the ball way too easily and Fulham attack again, until a goal-kick is given to Johnson's displeasure, the striker thought it was a corner.[LNB]34 Fulham go on the attack but the move goes out for a goal-kick.[LNB]33 Bolton win a free-kick, but the deliveries seem to be attracted to Hangeland like a magnet as he flicks it on back to Schwarzer.[LNB]32 Gardner goes on a mazy run, but an excellent tackle from Etuhu stops the Jamacian in his tracks.[LNB]31 Fulham miss a sitter now! Pantsil hits a lovely ball to the back post and Zomora missed from three yards out! End to end stuff![LNB]28 A flurry of Bolton Chances! Elmander hits a low free-kick which Schwarzer spills to Cahill, the defender's first shot is blocked by the Fulham keeper, then Cahill tries a flick which is cleared to McCann, but he shoots wide![LNB]27 One minute Hangeland clears, but the defender has conceded a free-kick.[LNB]26 Samuel gets the chance to send another long throw-in into the box, and he sends it in, but Hangeland towers above everyone and gets it clear.[LNB]25 After a interchange of possession, Bolton keeper Jaaskelainen powers one up to Kevin Davies, but it bounces over the striker's head and Jaaskelainen's opposite number Schwarzer catches the ball.[LNB]23 Konchesky floats it into the box, but Bolton stay strong and win a goal-kick.[LNB]22 Murphy plays a super ball out to Pantsil, who finds Zamora and the Fulham striker flicks it over Cahill, but the Bolton defender read the skill and heads the ball behind for a corner.[LNB]22 Fulham get the ball back after Etuhu wins a free-kick.[LNB]21 It's very gusty at the Reebok today, a number of long balls have deceived the players with the wind changing the flight. The wind might play a part in today's result as Bolton get on the ball.[LNB]20 Bolton have another throw-in, this time in the danger-zone, and Samuel launches one in. But yet again, Schwarzer takes the ball out of the air. Good keeping from the Aussie so far.[LNB]19 Fulham have the ball in Bolton's half, but Johnson can't stop the ball going out for a Trotter's throw-in.[LNB]17 Bolton win a free-kick. They through all the big men from the back up. O'Brien sends it, but Schwarzer rises like a salmon to claim the ball.[LNB]15 Renzo who is following the game from Malta is hoping for a rare away win, judging by the opening 15, it could be today![LNB]14 Fulham are putting a good spell together here - Zomora flicks it onto Johnson who tries to get through-on-goal, but Bolton win it back and try to break with Steinsson flighting a searching ball into the box, but Hughes marshalled the ball out expertly.[LNB]12 Simon Davies swings it in and its cleared to Pantsil, who tries to blast it from distance, but flys over the bar. You realise why he hasn't scored in English football yet![LNB]12 Fulham come back at Bolton and Zamora wins the first corner of the afternoon.[LNB]11 Samuel sends the long-throw in towards Kevin Davies, the ball's cleared, but Samuel gets it back down the left and he fizzed a ball across the box. Schwarzer was equal to the cross though.[LNB]10 Kevin Davies plays a lovely reverse ball to Taylor, and Bolton win a throw-in.[LNB]9 It's still Fulham looking the better side at the moment, Bolton tried to start a move, but a long ball over the top went behind for a Fulham goal-kick.[LNB]7 Oddly the tallest man on the pitch Hangeland decided to take the set-piece, and his long-ball searched out one of the smallest players on the pitch Johnson! A bit of a daft one there.[LNB]6 Bolton can't get hold of the ball as Dempsey wins a freekick for the Cottagers.[LNB]5 It's been a good start by Fulham as Simon Davies tries to run at pace at the Bolton defence, but eventually loses out to Cahill.[LNB]4 Zamora does well on the left and tries to find Johnson in the box, but Bolton get it clear.[LNB]3 Taylor strikes the free-kick into the wall, before having another pop, but the chance goes for the home side.[LNB]2 Bolton get their first spell of possession with Elmander laying a nice ball off to Steinsson, before Elmander wins a dangerous free-kick for the Trotters.[LNB]1 Fulham start by working it down the ball down the right. Johnson wins a throw-in but Pantsil wastes it with a foul throw.[LNB]0 Fulham get the game under-way.[LNB] I hope you British folks joined me by donating to Comic Relief last night, but now you can put your money to more good effect by betting on today's game - here's the latest odds courtesy of Skybet: 11/10 for a Bolton win, 9/4 if u fancy a draw and 13/5 if you think Fulham will get the three points.[LNB] Today's referee is Merseyside's Chris Foy for anyone intrigued.[LNB]Fulham: Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hangeland, Hughes, Konchesky, Davies, Etuhu, Murphy, Dempsey, Johnson, Zamora.
