Kids are all right for Wanderers

Dougie Freedman is likely to turn to his Bolton youngsters once more when they close out the season to struggling Birmingham at the Reebok Stadium.

Wanderers have had nothing to play for recently and Freedman has taken the opportunity to blood the likes of Andy Kellett, Hayden White, Oscar Threlkeld and Chris Lester. Midfielder Andy Robinson, meanwhile, could be considered for a debut after arriving on a youth loan from Southampton prior to the deadline.

Freedman's casualty list is significant and Joe Riley (knee), Marc Tierney (broken leg), Andre Moritz (hamstring), Darren Pratley (shoulder), Mark Davies (groin) and Stuart Holden (knee) will be more focused on returning to fitness over the summer.

Full-back pair Alan Hutton (knee) and Alex Baptiste (hip) have both been missing of late while midfielder Medo Kamara has been hampered by illness.

Lee Clark will look to Paul Robinson for a captain's performance as he returns from suspension in a match Birmingham simply must not lose.

Peter Lovenkrands is fit to play after overcoming an ankle injury which has forced him to miss the last two games, while Lee Novak faces a late fitness test.

Nikola Zigic and Jordan Ibe are attacking options for Clark should he wish to go at the Trotters in search of all three points.

One could be enough for the Blues given 21st-placed Doncaster travel to Leicester on what will be a tense final day for the sides near the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship.
