Bolton v Barnsley team news

Jacob Butterfield is primed to make his Bolton debut when his former club Barnsley visit the Reebok Stadium in the Championship on Saturday.

Butterfield joined Wanderers on loan last week from Norwich as he looks to build match fitness following a serious knee injury sustained while at Oakwell and was an unused substitute against Bolton last weekend. "I had my first training session last Friday and it is understandable really that I was on the bench last Saturday, but I have come here to get games in," the Bradford-born midfielder told Bolton's official website.

"It is a bit coincidental that Saturday will be against Barnsley, but hopefully it will be my debut for Bolton and hopefully I can have a good game. It will be interesting for me to play against some old faces and playing against them will be a bit strange, but it is a game that I am looking forward to. "I still keep in touch with the manager and players, so it is going to be really good to see them at the game, but I don't want that to distract from the main thing.

We have to get the three points for Bolton, and I'm looking forward to having a big impact on the team and showing people what I can do." Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has no new injuries going into the contest, with knee injury victims Stuart Holden, Andy Lonergan, David Wheater and Josh Vela all still on the sidelines.

Marcus Tudgay, who joined Barnsley on loan from Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, is in the Tykes' squad but may start on the substitutes' bench as he has recently worked his way back from a double hernia operation.

Barnsley's leading goalscorer Craig Davies has missed the last five matches due to a hamstring injury and is not expected to be rushed back by manager Keith Hill, while midfielder David Perkins, sidelined for the last two matches, is still out with a similar problem.

Former Tottenham and Middlesbrough forward Mido made his first appearance of the season as a second half substitute in last week's home defeat to Huddersfield and is expected to start on the bench again. Winger Jim O'Brien, on the bench for the last two games, is hoping to make his first start since August after recovering from a dislocated shoulder as the Tykes look to halt a run of four straight league defeats.
