Mason poised to bid farewell

Joe Mason is set to play the final game of his Bolton loan spell against Barnsley at the Reebok Stadium.

The Cardiff forward will be back in south Wales after two spells with Wanderers this season, the most recent of which has seen him score five times in eight games.

Bolton manager Dougie Freedman, who has presided over just one defeat in the previous 11 contests, must decide whether midfielder Mark Davies deserves a recall. Freedman had said the midfielder was fully fit following a groin strain.

The injured quartet of Marc Tierney (broken leg), Joe Riley (knee), Darren Pratley (shoulder) and Stuart Holden (knee) continue to occupy the sidelines.

Barnsley will be hoping to call on midfielder Liam Lawrence.

Lawrence missed Tuesday's home defeat to Burnley with a slight calf strain but has returned to training and could be included in Wilson's squad.

Martin Cranie is rated as "touch and go" with the hamstring injury which has troubled him recently, but striker Marcus Pedersen will miss out with a similar injury.

The Reds, who welcome Kelvin Etuhu back from suspension, are five points from safety going into the final five games of the season.
