Bolton told to up Robbo bid

Bolton have been informed by West Brom to double their offer for experienced full-back Paul Robinson. Robinson is expected to leave the Baggies after upsetting the club's fans in declaring a desire to re-join former manager Tony Mowbray at Celtic. The 30-year-old has just 12 months left on his existing West Brom deal and is now expected to leave The Hawthorns this summer. However, West Brom are believed to want around £1million for the stopper - double what Bolton are prepared to pay. Trotters manager Gary Megson remains confident a deal can be reached, although he is prepared to look elsewhere for reinforcements if West Brom reject a compromise. Meanwhile, Bolton are also being linked with a move for Swansea City midfielder Ferrie Bodde, who has only just recovered from a long-term knee injury.
