Bolton to swoop on Ngog

Bolton are closing in on a deal for Liverpool striker David Ngog with reports emerging claiming the move could be agreed this week.

The Reds are looking to seal a swoop for Sochaux's Ryad Boudebouz, which would then make the £4m-rated Frenchman available to leave Anfield.Trotters boss Owen Coyle has been in the hunt for Ngog's signature for at least the last month and has already seen two bids rejected. However, sources on Merseyside are suggesting that was largely because Kenny Dalglish didn't want to leave himself short of cover in attack, but obviously that position would change if Boudebouz signs up.

Coyle is determined to land Ngog as he looks to bolster his own side's strike power after giving up on his persuit of Jeffren Suarez, but if the two clubs can agree a fee, securing his transfer may not be plane sailing. The forward almost joined Sunderland in the summer as a makeweight in Jordan Henderson's switch from the Black Cats but that idea had to be aborted due to a dispute over his personal terms.Wanderers have also rubbished suggested that they too have been in negotiations with Liverpool about a possible swap deal for the player involving Gary Cahill.
