Bolton so much better than 'Mickey Mouse' Birmingham, claims Muamba

Fabrice Muamba returns to Birmingham for the first time with Bolton admitting he is glad he is not at a 'Mickey Mouse club'. Muamba wanted to quit St Andrew's less than a year after joining permanently from Arsenal because of the chaos behind the scenes at St Andrew's. Birmingham were relegated during Muamba's only full season at the club in 2007-08. Co-owner David Sullivan then launched an astonishing attack on the summer signings made by former manager Steve Bruce,  which included Muamba. But the England under-21 midfielder insists he has never looked back - and has never been happier - since joining  Bolton in June 2008. Muamba, 21, said: 'Would I have stayed if Birmingham had stayed up? No.  'I'd decided to go when I knew Bolton were interested in me. I knew I was going no matter what.   'There was loads of stuff going on behind the scenes. I had decided on my future two months before I left. 'I do not have any regrets because you look around and Bolton is a great club.   'Everything about this club is very professional. From top to bottom - things run smoothly.   'There's no Mickey Mouse stuff here. It's only proper stuff going on here.'  Muamba said he was stunned when Sullivan attacked Bruce's transfer buys following Birmingham's relegation. But the former Arsenal player insists he does not bare a grudge. He added: 'When he made those comments I felt 'what's going on here'?   'Everybody is entitled to their opinion and he said what he had to say. 'I'm professional. I don't need to dwell on it. I've moved on in my life and I'm sure he has as well. Whatever he had to say doesn't  really concern me.   'My only concern is that I'm happy at Bolton and enjoying my football.'
