Bolton have been linked with Celta Vigo playmaker Roberto Trashorras but face competition from Atletico Madrid for the 29-year-old.

The midfielder  has been instrumental in helping Celta challenge for promotion from Spain's second division, scoring three goals from midfield in 15 appearances.

Nicknamed La Brujita - The Witch - he is under contract till 2013, but Celta would not be able to resist bids around the £5million mark.

The free kick specialist scored 10 last season but has never made the step up to Spain's top flight.

Atletico have already announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Elias from Corinthians for the January window, but they have targeted Trashorras as a potential replacement for Beskitas-bound Simao.
