Betis snub Emana approach

Real Betis have rejected Bolton's offer for Cameroon international midfielder Achille Emana. The Wanderers reportedly tabled an offer of €8million for the 27-year-old, but the bid was rebuffed by Betis chairman Manuel Ruiz de Lopera. Lopera, whose club was relegated from the Spanish top-flight last season, is rumoured to be holding out for a fee in the region of €12million for the African ace. Emana moved to Betis in June 2008 for £5.5million from French club Toulouse, and bagged 11 goals and seven assists during the last campaign. However, he believes playing in the Spanish Segunda division will damage his chances of being named in the Cameroon squad for next year's African Cup of Nations and the World Cup.
