Arsenal v Barcelona, Wigan v Bolton live
Follow Sportsmail's coverage of Wednesday night's football where the main event is the first leg of the last 16 Champions League clash between Arsenal and Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium. Arsene Wenger will be aiming to at least come away with a win that would give the Gunners an advantage going to the Nou Camp. Elsewhere there will be updates on the FA Cup fourth round replay where Wigan host Bolton. Can you see just one goal in the space of 90 minutes though...really?[LNB]21.45: AC Milan slayed in their own back yard one night while, Arsenal overcome arguably the world's best team the next.[LNB]Still second legs to come I understand but the Premier League's supposed supporting roles in Tottenham and Arsenal for this competition have really made Europe sit back and take note.[LNB]21.43: Job done for the Trotters who fully deserved their victory and will travel to Fulham in the fifth round as their prize.[LNB]21.40: Full-time: Wigan 0-1 Bolton[LNB]21.37: Full-time in Roma too where it's finished Roma 2-3 Shakhtar Donetsk.[LNB]21.35: Two minutes left in injury time at the DW Stadium, but Wigan look no closer to getting an equaliser.[LNB]21.34: Make no mistake, it may be only half-time in this tie but Arsenal have laid down a marker there. They need only a draw in Spain to progress to the quarter-finals.[LNB]Full-time: Arsenal 2-1 Barcelona[LNB]21.33: Dani Alves, Messi are both denied from close range after a suicidal header from Arshavin but Arsenal manage to survive with a desperate clearance.[LNB]21.32: Two minutes added on.[LNB] Getting shirty: Arshavin (right) celebrates with Bendtner after firing Arsenal in front[LNB]21.31: Adriano replaces Andres Iniesta in the final minute.[LNB]21.28: Not all over yet though, Messi finds Dani Alves free in the 18 yard box, but it's a typical full-back's finish as he slams his shot high and straight at Szczesny who parries clear.[LNB]21.25: Van Persie is booked after a typical striker's foul on Pique make no mistake about this, Barcelona look stunned.[LNB]21.24: GOAL! It's Nasri's turn to beat the offside trap and after running down the right he draws all the defenders to him before cutting back for Andrey Arshavin, who plants a superb first time effort in to the bottom corner.[LNB]21.22: It's no more than Arsenal deserve who scent victory now. Barcelona hanging on here, if there is going to be a goal only one team is getting it and it won't be Messi & Co.[LNB] Gunning for it: The Emirates Stadium erupted after Van Persie's equaliser[LNB]21.19: GOAL! ARSENAL 1-1 Barcelona[LNB]Game on! Robin van Persie is onside as he latches onto Gael Clichy's through ball and at a tight angle rockets a shot low past Valdes at his near post. Poor keeping but take nothing away from a brilliant finish.[LNB]21.18: Walcott's night is up as he is replaced by Nicklas Bendtner. He of course scored the goal to open the scoring at the Nou Camp last season.[LNB]21.15: Wigan nearly hit back straight away but Jordi Gomez's effort from 18 yards crashes off the crossbar.[LNB]21.13: What a game in Rome. Roma have pulled one back against Shakhtar to make it 3-2 with Jeremy Menez grabbing the fifth goal in that match.[LNB] Cup hero: Klasnic fires Bolton ahead[LNB]21.11: GOAL! Wigan 0-1 BOLTON[LNB]Deserved too. Mark Davies plays in Ivan Klasnic who having been anonymous for most of the evening leaves Mike Pollitt with no chance by firing in to the bottom corner.[LNB]21.10: Sub for both sides. Song is replaced by Andrey Arshavin and Seydou Keita is on for Villa.[LNB]21.09: Messi again is wasteful, he beats the offside trap but eight yards out slides his effort past the onrushing Szczesny and wide. He can't keep missing like this surely?[LNB]21.08: Still 0-0 at the DW Stadium, but I still think there is a goal in that game, even in normal time.[LNB]21.05: Slight blip from me, forgot to tell you Pique will now miss the return leg after that booking.[LNB]21.04: Arsenal are back on top but just can't find a clear cut opportunity on goal, Barcelona starting to fly in with desperate challenges when the Gunners get close to the 18 yard box and are slightly struggling.[LNB]21.01: What a waste, Fabregas curls the ball straight at Valdes and over 50,000 Arsenal fans let out a sigh.[LNB]21.00: A yellow card for Gerard Pique after his foul on the left side of the penalty area 22 yards out and Arsenal have a free-kick in a good position here.[LNB]20.57: Walcott is at it again. After some good work from Fabregas and Nasri, the winger scampers down the left and on the second attempt manages to find Van Persie, whose left foot strike rises high over the bar. Encouraging play though.[LNB] Somebody stop him: Arsenal players crowd around Messi (green)[LNB]20.54: That's exceptional. Maxwell manages to reach a difficult pass on the left but at the byline rather than crossing the ball into the box delivers 20 yards from goal where Xavi scuffs his volley as it sails wide. Breathtaking play had he connected properly.[LNB]20.52: After a bright opening from Arsenal, Barca have once again settled, playing some good passing football that you normally associate with the Gunners on this ground.[LNB]20.49: Good effort from Wilshere, his left foot half-volley on the edge of the box well struck but easy pickings for Valdes.[LNB]20.48: Back underway at the DW Stadium.[LNB]20.47: Who would be a linesman on a night like this? So many close calls already and more to come I'm sure, and that's before you consider the pace of this game.[LNB]20.46: Back underway at the Emirates.[LNB]20.42: The target for Arsenal this half? I think three goals should be aimed for. It's possible before you start sniggering, they could have had three in that first-half.[LNB]That away goal really puts the visitors in a strong position.[LNB]20.38: For Arsenal it's deja-vu I'm afraid. They have had their chances but once again find themselves trailing at home to the Spanish champions.[LNB]This remains on a knife edge though, both teams have wasted good opportunities and I feel there is more goals to come.[LNB]20.35: Quick round up at the DW Stadium. Bolton have been by far the better side and really kicked on at the end of that half.[LNB]The half's best chance fell to Johan Elmander who had a shot that hit the post and trickled across the line before going out for a goal kick.[LNB] On the front foot: Bolton were unlucky not to be in front at half-time, with Johan Elmander's (left) strike that hit the post the closest they came in their clash at Wigan[LNB]20.32: Half-time: Wigan 0-0 Bolton[LNB]20.30: Half-time: Arsenal 0-1 Barcelona[LNB]20.29: It's now 3-1 to Shakhtar with Luiz Adriano grabbing the third. It's not been a good week for Italian clubs really has it.[LNB]20.26: Arsenal as you expect have by no means given up and that's a good passage of play there. Nasri on the left sends a good lofted cross into the box but Van Persie under pressure from Abidal heads over.[LNB]20.23: Messi has the ball in the net with a rebound header, but he is ruled offside. The Argentine looked to be behind onside when the initial shot was struck by Villa and Arsenal have got away with that.[LNB]20.21: Still 0-0 in what has not been a classic at the DW Stadium, with seven minutes until half-time.[LNB]While Douglas Costa has put Shakhtar Donetsk ahead in Rome.[LNB]20.18: Goal updates elsewhere in the Champions League, it's 1-1 between Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk. Jadson taking just a minute to cancel out Simone Perrotta's strike for the home side.[LNB]20.16: Now Arsenal have a glorious chance to equalise, once again on the counter.[LNB]Jack Wilshere does brilliantly to find Van Persie on the left side of the box and as he shoots fans around the ground are just waiting for the net to bulge. Except he gets it all wrong and it's in fact miles wide.[LNB]20.15: It could and should be two, from close range Pedro improvises well to get a shot on goal but Szczesny stands well to parry away to safety.[LNB]20.14: Arsenal losing their patience, Nasri is booked after a pretty clumsy tackle on Dani Alves.[LNB] Through the legs: David Villa's composed finish put Barcelona ahead[LNB]20.13: GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 BARCELONA[LNB]I did warn the Gunners. Messi slips a through ball central for the onside David Villa who calmly clips the ball under Szczesny and into the bottom corner. A crucial away goal.[LNB]20.11: Classics Arsenal counter, Walcott leads it and after playing Fabregas through the right side of the box, the Spaniard chips the ball across goal where Eric Abidal produces a goal saving header to clear to take the ball away from Van Persie.[LNB]20.09: Messi is not having a great night, first on the edge of the box he attempts another chip that never clears the height of Szczesny, then onside he fails to control a pass that otherwise would have had him again one-on-one.[LNB] Denies: Valdes saved well from Van Persie (right)[LNB]20.07: Ball possession so far is 60/40 in the visitors favour, probably a fair reflection of the overall dominance as well.[LNB]20.04: Barcelona starting to get on top. There has been some brilliant final balls from both teams but the offside flag has been very busy so far.[LNB]Arsenal have already been let off once and I can see this game's goals coming from one-on-ones and not your typical set-piece.[LNB]20.01: I didn't think this was possible! Messi beats the offside trap and puts himself one-on-one with Wojciech Szczesny, but he chips the ball over the keeper and wide. It was a glorious chance and he knows it.[LNB]20.00: Not too much happening at the DW Stadium. It's an awful pitch and there looks to be less than 10,000 in the ground. Not a good advert for football's oldest cup competition.[LNB]19.58: Arsenal have just taken their foot off the gas for a moment and the visitors are finally starting to see some of the ball.[LNB]This game is all pass, pass, pass, pass and it's great to watch.[LNB]19.55: Ten minutes gone and Arsenal are much the better team, Barcelona just can't keep up with the Gunners' quick play.[LNB]19.53: There is the danger however. Barca counter through Messi and as the Argentine storms towards the Arsenal defence, Alex Song takes one for the team and is booked for a trip on him 35 yards from goal.[LNB]19.52: It's all Arsenal. Walcott twists and turns the Barca defence on the outside of the box and after Cesc Fabregas chips the ball into the box, Van Persie's close range shot is well parried away by Valdes. Nasri's inswinger ends up in the hands of Victor Valdes with Robin van Persie just shy of making crucial contact with his head.[LNB]19.49: Not too much to separate the two teams, Arsenal have a free-kick in a dangerous position out on the left though.[LNB]19.46: Both games are underway.[LNB]19.44: And don't worry Wigan-Bolton fans, we have Ian Ladyman deployed at the DW Stadium to cover our bases:[LNB]While the world watches on at the Emirates, I am at the DW Stadium. But we love the north-west so we don't complain.[LNB]19.43: Teams are out at the Emirates, lots of flags from the home fans.[LNB]19.40: No penalties in this leg of the tie of course, but the chance to prevent Barcelona scoring an away goal hands the Gunners a massive incentive for the return leg at the Nou Camp.[LNB]19.38: So trying to go man-to-man with Barca last season ended in failure for Arsene Wenger but can Arsenal really play 'park the bus' tactics.[LNB]It would not be the first time. Arsenal last won a trophy on such principles after somehow keeping Manchester United at bay in the 2005 FA Cup final - before going on to win the penalty shootout.[LNB]19.35: I know nothing about the attendance at the DW Stadium tonight, but it's safe to say Wigan have hardly been close to filling it all season.[LNB]So take into account it's a Wednesday night, replays are not that popular for fan's wallets and you have Arsenal v Barcelona on the box and I fear for how many people are going to actually be at that ground.[LNB]19.32: Sportsmail's Matt Lawton on twitter:[LNB]Nasri starting worth the gamble.
