Alonso revved up for Bolton move

Marcos Alonso is looking forward to an impending move to Bolton Wanderers after confirming he turned down the chance to join Benfica.[LNB] Bolton boss Owen Coyle has revealed he is hoping to tie up a deal for the Real Madrid teenager in the coming days and Alonso is keen to grasp his opportunity.[LNB]The left-back, who can also play in midfield, has been unable to make the breakthrough at Real and was offered a switch to Benfica.[LNB]However, the 19-year-old has been more impressed by Bolton's long-standing pursuit of his services and he is keen to make his mark in the Premier League.[LNB]"It's hard for a young player at Real Madrid as they always buy players," said Alonso in the Daily Mirror. "There's a lot of pressure to win trophies, so they don't give youngsters or reserves a chance.[LNB]"If I stayed I could have been in the reserves for years, but I knew I had to go to play football at the best level possible.[LNB]"I was impressed that Bolton watched me in the reserves and wanted me for a long time. I could have gone to Benfica, but felt they only wanted me as part of the deal for Angel Di Maria."
