Bologna swoop for Osvaldo

Bologna have completed the signing of Fiorentina striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo for a fee believed to be in the region of £5million.

The former Italy Under-21 international had been expected to leave Fiorentina this month after failing to hold down a first-team place.

Premier League side West Ham United, who are coached by former Italy Under-21 joint manager Gianfranco Zola, was reported to be his likely destination.

However, Bologna have swooped to sign the 23-year-old frontman, who joined La Viola from Lecce in 2007.

Osvaldo has made just eight Serie A appearances this season.
