Freier makes Bochum return

Midfielder Paul Freier will return to former club Bochum in the summer, ending a four-year stint with Bayer Leverkusen.

The 28-year-old former Germany international has fallen down the pecking order with Leverkusen this season and is hoping to kick-start his career back at Bochum.

He told the club's official website: "I have never completely left Bochum.

"My family and I have always lived here. VfL is my home club and I enjoyed the best time of my career here.

"I hope that we will enjoy some success together in the coming season."

Freier has penned a five-year contract to seal his switch and he will rejoin Bochum at the start of July.
