Let's start the bidding with some tasty Tottenham gossip this morning - Dimitar Berbatov could be on his way back to the Lane from Man United. And here's why...

Firstly, according to the Daily Mirror, Stoke gaffer Tony Pulis is after Roman Pavlyuchenko. And he's willing to pay £11 million to get his man.

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson is so desperate to sign Luka Modric he's willing to part with three United stars in part-exchange - that's if you believe what caughtoffside.com are saying.

So, all things considered Spurs could be in need of a striker and United could be in the perfect position to give them one - especially if a big-name forward arrives at the Theatre of Mounting Debts as expected.

Interesting stuff. And why not throw in a 'Michael Owen to Spurs' sentence while we're at it.

Meanwhile, the Joe Cole saga continues to develop.

'Arry Redknapp definitely wants his former West Ham starlet at Spurs and plans to talk to him after the World Cup. But he'll be fighting it out with Arsene Wenger, and possibly Fergie too.

Oh, and throw into the mix the fact that Ray Wilkins says Chelsea want Cole to stay and we've got a genuine tug of war developing.
