Rumours - Mourinho wants Gerrard at Real

Published: 24 May 2010 - 08:45:14

As you may have heard, it looks like Jose Mourinho is Bernabeu bound. And the Special One's potential shopping list at Real Madrid is hogging all the headlines.

First up, Steven Gerrard. Mourinho tried to sign Stevie Gee when he was at Chelsea, so it's no surprise he's being linked with a move for the England midfielder this summer.

Gerrard has made no secret of his frustrations at Liverpool, and some media outlets are reporting he's made up his mind to leave.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been mentioned, but Gerrard's Anfield allegiance could make a move to Madrid the most attractive option - that and a sackload of cash of course.

If Mourinho is confirmed at Madrid as expected, Frank Lampard and John Terry could also be targets. Mourinho valued both highly in his successful spell at Stamford Bridge.

Staying on the Mourinho theme, Roy Hodgson is being tipped to replace him at Inter Milan.

The Daily Mirror reports that Hodgson is lined up for a 'shock' move to the San Siro to fill the Special One's boots.
