Rumours - Barcelona in for Rooney

Published: 19 May 2010 - 11:48:41

No, surely not you cry! Barcelona have already got Lionel Messi and they're doing their best to prise Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.

They're also after David Villa and Fernando Torres, if you believe what you read in the gossip columns. Surely that's enough to keep them going for another season.

But according to the Daily Mirror (reliable source that it is) Barca are planning an outrageous bid for Manchester United superhero Wayne Rooney.

A price of £80 million is being floated around, along with the suggestion that United owners may be forced to cash in to help the club out of debt.

England hitman Rooney has said he is happy at Old Trafford, but that was before he considered playing alongside the likes of Messi, Xavi, and potentially Torres at the Nou Camp.

A listener called TalkSport this morning with a good rumour. He claimed to have seen Mark Hughes and Craig Bellamy leaving Celtic Park late last night.

Interesting.
