Rumours - Chelsea ready to fight for Torres

Published: 18 May 2010 - 09:16:46

After sealing the double on Saturday, Chelsea are preparing to flash the cash this summer in their quest for Champions League glory.

According to The Sun, Roman Ambramovich is ready to part with £50 million and a salary of £190,000/week to prise Fernando Torres from Liverpool and Chelsea could make an official bid before the end of the month.

But the Blues won't have it all their way. Barcelona are planning an audacious double swoop for Torres and his Spanish international team-mate David Villa - with Zlatan Ibrahomovic set to exit stage left at the Nou Camp.

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Zlatan, with £40m the number being thrown around in the gossip columns.

Liverpool have reportedly turned down a £14m offer from Arsenal for Pepe Reina.

Arsene Wenger is keen to sign a goalkeeper and is now being linked with Juventus stopper Gianluigi Buffon.
