Blackpool's fight for Premier League survival is back on track with a handful of new signings and Seasider fans at least will never have to wonder "What if?" as Spurs audacious late bid for Adam fell victim of the 11pm Transfer deadline with Adam re-affirming his commitment to the club. Blackpool fans will not forget Monday 31st January 2011 for a very, very long time.On a frantic final day of the transfer window, Blackpool are understood to have rejected offers from Liverpool of £8.5m and £10m for the Scotland international - the latter bid arriving as late as 8pm. Blackpool have valued Adam at £14m, despite paying just £500,000 to sign him from Rangers in 2009.As expected several clubs persued their interest in Charlie Adam after his recent transfer request but Holloway and Oyston appeared to have hung onto their star player right until the final hour until a late audacious bid from Harry Redknapp Tottenham appeared to have been accepted. But Redknapp later claimed Blackpool eventually delayed the deal long enough for it to miss the 11pm deadline and it it meant that the club managed to retain the services of Charlie Adam at least to the end of their first Premier League campaign. Oyston said: "What we've got to consider isn't so much valuation - obviously that's a consideration - but its what's at stake for us and the fact that we really don't want to lose momentum or part of our spirit or affect things badly."Looking back on other Premier League newcomers if they lose the manager or lose some key players that's when things really tend to start to fall apart."The offer was nowhere near what we could even begin to consider and more importantly we'd gone past the stage - and I did flag this up to them a fair while ago - that if they were seriously interested then they'd better put their best offer on the table."The news that Adam will stay together with his statement re-affirming his commitment is a massive boost to Seasiders fans who had to endure an agonising Monday as Adam re-wrote the headlines time and again throughtout the day.More importantly fans wil at least not be left to ponder the "What if?" question had Adam been transferred and left the club and Pool's Premier League status was to end this season. Now with the squad strenghthened Holloway has the chance to still pull off one of the amazing stories of the season by retaining Blackpool's status in the top league.
