Seasiders switch for Burgess

Hull City striker Ben Burgess has signed a two-year deal with Blackpool after completing his transfer to Bloomfield Road for an undisclosed fee.

The Seasiders also have the option of a further 12 months for the 24-year-old former Blackburn trainee.

Burgess made three appearances for Rovers but, after spending the 2001-02 season on loan with Brentford, where he scored 17 goals in 43 League matches, he moved to Stockport County in a £400,000 deal four years ago.

However, after a disappointing season at Edgeley Park - he scored only four goals in 19 League games for the Hatters - he moved to Hull City for £100,000 in March 2003.
