    Seasiders snap up Vaughan

    05 Aug 2008 - 08:32:54

Blackpool have wrapped up the £200,000 signing of Wales international midfielder David Vaughan from Spanish side Real Sociedad.

The 25-year-old former Crewe Alexandra schemer has signed a two-year contract with the Seasiders, having endured a torrid one-year stay with Sociedad.

Vaughan told his new club's official website: "I'm pleased to come back. It's been a bit of a tough 12 months in Spain and I'm glad to be back and playing for Blackpool."

However, Vaughan may have to wait to make his debut for Simon Grayson's side, with the Seasiders still awaiting international clearance to seal the deal.

A club spokesman told the Blackpool Gazette: "It could be an issue, but we are in contact with the appropriate people and are very hopeful we can get everything sorted out quickly."
