Blackpool have signed Coventry City striker Andy Morrell on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old has penned a two-year contract at Bloomfield Road after ending a three-year stint with the Sky Blues.

Morrell netted 17 goals in 98 league outings for City, often being used on the right side of midfield.

He had previously made his name with Wrexham, where he netted 40 goals in 109 league appearances.

The Seasiders are also being linked with a move to try and land Hull City striker Ben Burgess, who has fallen out of favour at the KC Stadium.

Burgess has been with the Tigers for just over three years, having started his career as a trainee with Blackburn Rovers and having also had spells with Brentford, Stockport County and Oldham Athletic.
