Blackpool boss Simon Grayson has handed a trial to the Sunderland midfielder Arnau Riera with the possibility of the 26-year-old earning a season-long loan deal with the Seasiders.
Riera moved to the Stadium of Light two summers ago, but has made only two first-team appearances for Roy Keane's side.
He was sent out on loan to Southend United during the 2006-07 campaign before spending the whole of last season with Falkirk, scoring twice in 22 games for the SPL side.
Grayson told his club's official website: "Arnau is one of a number of trialists we're taking a look at.
"We'll take a look at him and he'll take a look at us and, if he does well, we'll take it from there."
