Seasiders move for Edwards

Blackpool have snapped up Wales international defender Rob Edwards for an undisclosed fee from Championship rivals Wolves.

The 25-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Seasiders, joining for what is thought to be a club record fee.

Edwards told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I want to play and improve and help the squad to better last year's success.

"I've had good seasons before at Wolves and want that again rather than being on the bench.

"I've had a really good pre-season with Wolves and feel really fit and strong and raring to go, it's just that match sharpness now which you can only get through playing games."

Edwards moved to Molineux in the summer of 2004, having previously played for Derby County, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
