Blackpool have swooped on Championship side Derby County to sign striker Luke Varney on loan.
Varney, 27, has joined the Seasiders on a season-long deal and could make his debut in Saturday's visit of Fulham to Bloomfield Road.
The former Crewe and Charlton Athletic striker impressed manager Ian Holloway while on loan at Sheffield Wednesday last season, where he notched nine goals in 39 Championship appearances.
"He's a great lad, he's got some pace and I think he'll play really well in a 4-3-3," Holloway told the club's official website.
"I think he'll just slot straight in to our system and hopefully I can get him going again.
"He's a fantastic lad off the field and even at Sheffield Wednesday last season he got 11 goals for them."
