Blackpool officials have met with Lancashire police to discuss alleged racist and homophobic chanting which marred Saturday's derby against Preston at Bloomfield Road.

Supporters from both clubs lodged complaints after the goalless draw and the Seasiders have pledged to ban any fans found guilty of offensive behaviour.

"We don't want racist chanting," said club secretary Matt Williams. "The days of racist abuse on the football terraces are long gone and we fully back the 'Let's Kick Racism' out of football campaign.

"Simon Grayson, our manager, is a patron of the 'Show Racism the Red Card' scheme in football.

"We don't want it, there's no place in society for it let alone at a football match."
