Seasiders land Dickinson

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has moved quickly to replace the injured Danny Coid by snapping up the Stoke City left-back Carl Dickinson on a month's loan.

Coid is unlikely to play again until mid-January because of a knee injury so Dickinson has been drafted in after impressing for the Seasiders' reserves on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old has made seven starts for the Potters and three appearances from the substitute's bench.

Meanwhile, teenage striker Sean Paterson has joined Conference strugglers Southport on loan.

Grayson told the club's official website: "Sean's done well in the reserves and youth team and this will be a bigger test for him.

"He did well last season when he went on loan to Lancaster and Leigh, but this is another step up. We'll monitor his progress, but hopefully Sean will enjoy his time, play some football and score some goals."
