The 46-year-old has returned to management almost 12 months to the day of his departure from Leicester. He takes over from Tony Parkes, who left the club this week after assuming caretaker control following Simon Grayson's exit in December. Holloway - who has signed a one-year deal with a one-year option said: "I can't wait to get started. I'm really excited because I think it's a fantastic opportunity. "Blackpool are a Championship side and everything is on the move forward. I've been out of the game for a year and am just delighted to be back." Holloway has signed a one-year deal with a one-year option. Chairman Karl Oyston told the club's official website: "We are delighted to be able to welcome a manager of Ian's calibre to Bloomfield Road. "He is a very professional and thorough person who ticked all the boxes and who has an excellent track record. He is hungry to take the club forward."
