Positive signs for McPhee

Blackpool forward Stephen McPhee is finally seeing signs of promise in his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

The 28-year-old Scotsman has not featured for the Seasiders since early April, having suffered ruptured ligaments in his right knee.

He told the Blackpool Gazette: "Slowly I'm getting there and hopefully next month I can start running and then start getting the ball out, with the aim to be back around January.

"It's been a bit like Groundhog Day, you have good days and bad days when you're out injured for a long time.

"I've had a long injury once before and you've just got to make sure everything's right.

"It's better to just take it easy and make sure that everything's fine, because when you've been out for a lengthy spell you tend to get little hamstring and calf niggles."
