Pool loanee set for exit

Blackpool's on-loan defender Anthony McMahon looks set to return to Middlesbrough after picking up a hamstring strain.

The 21-year-old full-back lasted just ten minutes of Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Southampton and now seems certain to be returning to his Premier League parent club.

McMahon had joined the Seasiders on a month's loan in a bid to play some first-team football following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a broken leg.

He made just two appearances for the Championship club.

"We'll assess the injury but at the moment it's not looking good," confirmed Blackpool manager Simon Grayson.
