Blackpool captain Michael Jackson is confident age will be no barrier in successfully making the step up to Championship level next season.

The 33-year-old played in the second tier of English football during seven years at Preston North End and is looking forward to returning with the Seasiders next term.

"I really wanted to get back into the Championship and I still think I've got a lot to offer at that level," he told the Blackpool Gazette.

"Playing with these lads last season has given me a new lease of life to be honest and I'm glad I'm going up with them, hopefully to be captain of this side again and test ourselves at a higher level.

"Obviously there are going to be players coming in and that's what needs to happen.

"But at the end of the day they can't take away what we achieved at Wembley and the promotion we won."
