Pericard in Tangerines trial

Blackpool have handed trials to former Middlesbrough striker Vincent Pericard and Brian Gilmour.

The duo both played 90 minutes for the Seasiders in a 1-0 reserve defeat to Tranmere Rovers.

26-year-old forward Pericard boats an impressive CV, with Juventus, Portsmouth and Stoke City among his previous employers.

Gilmour, 22, is a former Rangers midfielder who was recommended to manager Ian Holloway by Tangerines midfielder Louis Almond, who also played at Ibrox.

"I will have a look at the pair of them over a period of time," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette.

"I told them I wouldn't judge them on one night so I'm not going to.

Despite watching his second-string fall to a loss, Holloway was happy to get a look at the trialists and his fringe players.

"We got beat but second half was much better, a bit too open perhaps, but it gave me a chance to have a look at the young lads," he added

"They've got to understand what we are trying to achieve here.

"I saw lots of endeavour, hard work and Blackpool-type play, which is fantastic."
