Blackpool manager an Holloway admitted that things could hardly have gone any better in his side's 4-1 Carling Cup second round victory over Premier League Wigan Athletic.

Goals from Ishmel Demontagnac, Ben Burgess, Charlie Adam and substitute Gary Taylor-Fletcher gave the Seasiders a comprehensive win.

Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette: "Just about everything went right.

"We ordered the rain and it came down just as they went out for their warm-up. I am not sure how many of them actually fancied it, but my lads did.

"Unfortunately we haven't done that in the league yet, so what we've been doing hasn't been good enough and we have to move it forward.

"The lads are all getting to know each other a bit better, so they'll grow as a group. It is still very early days yet."
