Parkes rues Burgess blow
22 Jan 2009 - 11:59:15
Blackpool's caretaker manager Tony Parkes is on the lookout for a new striker after Ben Burgess suffered a knee injury in the recent clash with Coventry City.
Parkes had been enthused with Burgess' link-up with loan signing Dudley Campbell, but now has to make different plans.
He told the Blackpool Gazette: "It is a real shame that we have to make alternative plans again because right from day one DJ and Ben had looked a good partnership.
"We played a practice match the day after DJ signed, an 11-a-side game and they worked well together.
"It was the same at Coventry. Those two caused them a lot of problems in the first half.
"It was going well with those two up front and for Ben to suffer the injury he did was very disappointing.
"It looks like Ben will be out for a while, so we go back to the drawing board in terms of getting another partnership going up front."
