Parkes and his assistant Steve Thompson have been in charge of the Seasiders since the turn of the year following Simon Grayson's defection to Leeds.[LNB]The duo have steered the club to Championship safety and look set to be rewarded by being handed the roles permanently.[LNB]Parkes told the Blackpool Gazette: "It's going to be all hands to the pump over the summer I think. If the chairman says I've got the job, then there will be much to sort out.[LNB]"We should really be planning for next season already, but because we only confirmed our safety on Saturday not much planning could really be done.[LNB]"However, we're safe now and as soon as the manager's position gets sorted out then myself and Steve can start working towards next season."[LNB]Meanwhile striker Brett Ormerod insists his side deserve great credit for winning their fight against relegation from the Championship.[LNB]Ormerod's goal in last weekend's 1-1 draw at home to fellow Nottingham Forest preserved the Seasiders' place in English football's second tier for a third successive season.[LNB]He said: "It's an unbelievable achievement to have stayed up.[LNB]"You only have to look at the clubs (Charlton and Southampton) that have gone down to see that."[LNB][LNB]
