Parker set for early finish

Blackpool will have to cope without striker Kiegan Parker for the final weeks of the season as he is set to undergo surgery on his groin problem.

Blackpool look safe from relegation to League Two, despite Saturday's defeat to Peterborough, having already passed through the 50-point barrier so his absence should not be too much of a problem.

Parker is the Seasiders' top scorer with 11 goals this season and he hoped to battle on until the end of the campaign, but the pain has become too much of late and he has had to relent.

He is set to feature in the Chesterfield game on April 23 before going under the surgeon's knife and he should be fighting fit for the start of pre-season training in the summer.
