Oyston admits Pool fears

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has admitted that he fears the club could lose several of their star players next summer.

A number of the Tangerines squad have get-out clauses in their contracts, meaning they can leave if another club offers a specified amount for their services.

However, Oyston feels his club have to put up with such situations, if they are to bring in quality players.

He told the Blackpool Gazette: "If the only way you can get a player is to have these clauses, then you've got to take that.

"If they then go under those clauses, a deal is a deal and you have to take it on the chin.

"If the choice is have the player with the clause or don't have the player at all, then from our point of view we've got to have the player with the clause.

"If that comes back to haunt us it comes back to haunt us, but I think I would stand behind having them with the clause rather than not having them at all, which is the alternative."
