The Seasiders will enjoy a third successive year in the second tier of English football next term after surviving relegation by 10 points. Latvian businessman Belokon invested in the club in summer 2006 and Oyston praised him in an open letter to the Blackpool Gazette. He said: "Valery's association with the club has been crucial and I would go so far as to say that without him, in my opinion, we would not be looking forward to a third term in the Championship and we certainly would not be building the south and south west stands. "Valery has been an honourable and fearless partner in these hard times and has put many millions of pounds (new money) into the club and the new stands, matching us every step of the way. "Valery is a serious and very wealthy player and I sincerely hope we will go a long way together and certainly as far as is humanly possible to achieve our joint aspiration of one day getting into the Premiership."
