Ormerod rejoins Seasiders

Brett Ormerod has returned to Blackpool after being released from his contract at Preston North End.

The 32-year-old striker netted 45 league goals in 128 appearances in his first stint at Bloomfield Road before joining Southampton just over seven years ago.

Ormerod has penned a deal that will keep him with the Seasiders until the end of the season.

He endured an injury-ravaged spell at Deepdale, making only 41 starts following his transfer from Southampton three years ago and has had spells on loan with Nottingham Forest and Oldham Athletic this term.

His last appearance for the Lilywhites was as a substitute in a 1-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace almost 11 months ago.
