Ormerod commits to Seasiders

Veteran striker Brett Ormerod has penned a new one-year deal with Blackpool with the option for a second year.

The 32-year-old returned to Bloomfield Road from Preston North End in January and made 15 appearances for the Seasiders as they successfully avoided relegation.

New Blackpool boss Ian Holloway said: "I'm delighted that Brett has signed again.

"He was a key player in the side that did well for the club towards the end of last season, he wants to be here and is everything Blackpool stands for.

"He's one of the most hard-working players I've come across and his work rate was evident in the DVDs I have watched and scout reports I've seen.

"Everyone I've spoken to has nothing but praise for him and I can't get wait to work with him and the rest of the squad."
