On the one hand, to be coming to a Premiership club without being a huge underdog is a measure of how far we have come. On the other hand, the performance was nothing like as good as we saw in the previous two games, and we need to raise ourselves against teams like Birmingham if we are going to have chances of survival.Was it a fair result on Saturday?Probably it was - there wasn't much to choose between the teams, but we made a couple of mistakes in defence which they took advantage of. We have several good chances to score, and didn't make the most of them.Best chant?Nothing new.Funniest moment?When it started to pour with rain, and it was coming through the gap in the roof between the two stands. A whole set of Blackpool supporters scuttled up into the top rows of seats out of the weather.Who were Blackpool's star players?Best for me was Cathcart, who made one crucial challenge early on, and was solid throughout.Any regrets?If GTF had got his header on target in the first minute. If the ref or linesman had seen the handball in the Birmingham area when it was still 0-0. But we can't really complain about the officials, that was tough to see, even on replay, and Eardley could easily have been sent off for his foul early on.Opposition any good?One of the poorer teams we have played, Gilks was hardly tested. But they took advantage of the breaks and we didn't.What next?Nine days to recover, and then another real test at Bloomfield Road against Villa. We need to raise our game to the Man City level.Final thoughts?A disappointing result, but who could have thought 12 months ago that we would be coming away from a 2-0n defeat at Birmingham feeling disappointed?
