No relegation fears for Evatt

Blackpool's goalscoring defender Ian Evatt believes the club's latest win should finally prove to their doubters that relegation worries are a thing of the past.

Evatt's 65th-minute looping header, his first goal of the season, gave Blackpool a deserved point against Crystal Palace at the weekend, leaving them 11th in the Championship table.

For a team widely tipped to be battling against the drop for most of the season, their tally of 18 points from 13 games is a remarkable start to the campaign.

"Everyone was writing us off, but if you ask them whether we'll go down now, they'll probably say no," Evatt told the Blackpool Gazette.

"We've changed a lot of peoples' opinions of us and hopefully we can carry on doing that.

"But at the same time we've just got to keep our heads down, keep our feet on the floor and keep working hard."
