Nemeth blow for Seasiders

Blackpool have received an injury blow after scans confirmed that Krisztian Nemeth suffered a fractured cheekbone on his debut.

The Liverpool striker had only joined the Seasiders on loan on Monday but is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

He picked up the injury just minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute in the 3-0 defeat to QPR.

"Following a scan this morning it was confirmed that the striker had in fact suffered a fractured cheekbone and he has now been referred to a specialist," confirmed a club statement.

Meanwhile, caretaker manager Tony Parkes admitted he was disappointed by the level of performance against QPR following the weekend victory over Birmingham City.

He told the club's official website: "The complaint we had was that we didn't play very well after Saturday's game.

"It was like after the Lord Mayor's show. We looked as though we'd spent all our energy beating Birmingham and couldn't lift ourselves to be honest.

"We had no complaints about the result - the best team won."
