Blackpool boss Simon Grayson has reassured Bloomfield Road forgotten man John Murphy that he still has a future with the club.
The 30-year-old striker has barely featured for the Seasiders during an 18-month spell when he has been troubled by persistent back problems.
But, despite being loaned out to Macclesfield Town, Grayson insists Murphy still has a part to play with the League One promotion hopefuls.
"We have sent John Murphy out just to get games and fitness. He probably isn't going to be out of the club for longer than two months," he told the Blackpool Gazette.
"He isn't out of the picture. He is out getting match fitness with a view to coming back to Blackpool.
"He realises he has to work hard to get back into our team. There have been times when he has been playing 60 or 70 per cent fit and not doing himself or the team justice.
"Now he realises we've got good competition up front and that he has to go out, put in some hard work and get back to his top form to get back into our team."
