Blackpool manager Simon Grayson is still keen to wrap up a permanent deal with loan winger Wes Hoolahan, despite leaving the Irishman out his starting line-up recently.

The 23-year-old has impressed since joining the Seasiders from Livingston, but has been left on the bench for the last two games.

However, Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette: "Negotiations have gone on for a long time and the offer's there if he wants to take it.

"It is only his second season of full-time football, it is a demanding season and a demanding league.

"Physically and mentally it is hard playing 46 league and other cup games, he is not the only player who has been feeling it.

"You can't always maintain your form if you are a flair player, especially if you are a marked man like Wes."
