Holloway rues tournament exit
Rushden & Diamonds sealed a semi-final spot at the Seasiders' expense thanks to a penalty shoot-out victory in the pre-season tournament.
However, Holloway was keen to emphasise that the players' positive attitude throughout the competition has left him relishing further work on the training ground.
He told the Blackpool Gazette: "There are a lot of things I'm looking forward to working on because they are a great set of lads who are very upset that we got knocked out.
"We will continue to build up and we will have the toughest test five days before the season with Everton.
Holloway revealed that he is still looking to add to his squad before the big kick-off, adding: "I haven't got the squad I need yet and I'm working on it, but at least I found out a bit more about those I have got here."
