Campbell scored nine goals in 20 appearances for the Seasiders last season after moving to Bloomfield Road on loan in mid-January. Blackpool boss Holloway, who worked with the 27-year-old during his spell as Leicester manager, had hoped to sign Campbell this summer but revealed that the former Brentford and Birmingham striker was not willing to take a pay cut. "We have tried to sign DJ Campbell, but Leicester went up last season and that means DJ's wages also went up," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette. "His agent has made it totally clear that he isn't going to take a drop from the money he is on."
