Holloway hails deserving Doncaster

The home side were seemingly heading for another miserable afternoon when, having twice led, they allowed Ben Burgess to put Blackpool 3-2 ahead with 13 minutes remaining.[LNB]But Billy Sharp scored his second of the afternoon to rescue Doncaster just as the game entered stoppage time.[LNB]It dashed Holloway's hopes of a second win on the road this season but he had few complaints.[LNB]"Where do you start on a game like that?" he said. "I would have paid to watch that myself.[LNB]"Entertainment is the business and that was just great. If it carries on that way for the rest of my life I will die earlier - it's not good for my ticker.[LNB]"Ups and downs and ins and outs, that game had everything. Brilliant.[LNB]"I cannot complain about the result at all because if we had won it would have been tough on Doncaster. They deserved a point out of that.[LNB]"You have to give them credit because they did not let their heads drop and they never gave up. They got their reward at the end, but they played extremely well.[LNB]"Sean has been a breath of fresh air with his principles wherever he has been. They play great football and in this world, where money is so important, he gives you value for money."[LNB]Martin Woods opened the scoring in the sixth minute but Ian Evatt's downward header squirmed under Neil Sullivan to make it 1-1 on 22 minutes.[LNB]Sharp put the hosts back in front with the first attack of the second half but Jay Emmanuel-Thomas hit a sweet equaliser for Blackpool on 62 minutes and Burgess made it 3-2 on 77 minutes.[LNB]However, Sharp, guilty of missing several earlier chances, saved the day at the death.[LNB]It was the sixth time this season that Doncaster have led a game only to lose or draw, but O'Driscoll was happy with the performance.[LNB]"It was excellent," he said. "We are not the biggest side in the world and their physicality caused us problems.[LNB]"But we stuck with it, didn't get frustrated and got something. I think we created more chances but we have been saying all week what a good side Blackpool are and they showed that today.[LNB]"We said at half-time that we have to take every chance we get to play and we did that. Sometimes that causes you problems, but this wasn't the sort of game to sit back and defend. It was a game to get forward and fight fire with fire."[LNB]Speaking about Sharp, O'Driscoll added: "He has a good character.[LNB]"He will be disappointed with the chances he has missed. Arguably he could have had four or five but he keeps on going and that will stand him in good stead.[LNB]"The crowd like him because they see he wears his heart on his sleeve and he perseveres. If you persevere long enough you get your just rewards."[LNB][LNB]
