Holloway absent for cup defeat

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway missed his side's 4-3 Carling Cup humiliation at the hands of npower League One side MK Dons as Lewis Guy scored an extra-time winner in the round two clash. Jermaine Easter also scored twice to add to Blackpool's misery after their 6-0 Barclays Premier League defeat at Arsenal on Saturday. The home side led in the first minute through Sam Baldock's 18-yard strike before Brett Ormerod brought the visitors level after the break with a header from Neal Eardley's cross. Easter then netted twice in as many minutes, the striker rounding Mark Halstead for his first before doubling his tally after a neat one-two with Baldock. But Ludovic Sylvestre's free-kick to the far post went straight in to get Blackpool back into the tie. Ormerod also had two close-range efforts disallowed for offside before a late penalty from substitute Charlie Adam - following a melee in the box - took the game into extra-time. Substitute Guy, on for Dietmar Hamann, then netted with just over 10 minutes of extra-time remaining after Easter was involved in the build-up.
