Blackpool boss Simon Grayson admits that he finds it easier to do business outside the transfer window.
The Football League's emergency loan system enables Grayson and his fellow managers to bring in fresh faces after the end of January and he is on the lookout for any available bargains.
He told the Blackpool Gazette: "The emergency loan system makes a mockery of the transfer deadline.
"We are always looking to improve the squad and if players we are interested in become available between now and the end of season, I will look into signing them.
"It means there is no need for clubs like us to get carried away with signing players in the transfer window.
"I think it's often easier to do business outside the window."
